sewing machine quilt

would anyone suggest a quality sewing machine for quilting? I bought a Singer about 15 months ago and it is junk. I bought a Bernina QE (quilters edition) last year and am very happy with it. It has a quilting stitch, walking foot and stitch regulator. Plus you can slow the speed down and adjust the feed dog pressure. These were all features that I was looking for. I'm currently quilting a king size quilt using this machine. Yes, I have a lot of fabric to push under the arm, but it's working fine. Try going to a sewing exhibition - larger cities have them - where you can try different machines and talk to the sellers about features.

Janome Sew Precise Stitches
There are 37 stitches built into this sewing machine. Quilting stitches, cross stitches, stretch stitches, basic stitches for sewing clothes like straight and zigzag and even a nice buttonhole stitch. Some machines have twice as many stitches and don't cover the same ground.

The buttonhole is a one-step style. This means that the machine sews all four sides of the buttonhole in one step without you having to remove and reposition the fabric. It will even reinforce the ends.

The Janome Sew Precise has a top loading, drop-in bobbin - the easiest, least temperamental bobbin style. Use the automatic needle threader to get the top thread in place.

The bobbin uses a horizontal full rotary hook for jam proof sewing - even if you sew right off the edge of the fabric your threads won't bunch up into a tight, frustrating knot.
