Pattern for Top-stitching an "around-the-world" Quilt?
I have the pieces of the quilt together. But does anyone know where to get patterns for top-stitching (quilting) the three layers together? I don't want to do a simple stitch-in-the-ditch but something a little fancier; although I do not have a LongArm sewing machine, just a regular sewing machine. Thanks!
It's hard to find free continuous-line quilting patterns on the internet, but this site has collected links to a few (look through the listings to see the possibilities).

Also, some libraries have books of patterns - perhaps yours is one.
Here are some other approaches, too.
A very traditional and also very simple style of quilting for this quilt pattern is to sew a continuous diagonal line through all squares of the same color, forming concentric diamonds of stitching on the surface. Here's a link to a picture where you can see the quilting clearly.

The same general idea but with a scalloped or undulating line of stitching instead of a straight one looks very nice, too.
If you're able to do free-motion quilting, many people meander-quilt this design, or lines of cursive Ls and Es look very pretty. A continuous-line leaf pattern like the one in this picture (scroll down to the 'challah cover') would be lovely, too.

Hope one of these works for you. Congratulations on finishing your quilt top!
